Article Description

The River in Opto Air plastic is a lightweight fairway driver with exceptional glide. Tiny air bubbles are trapped inside the rim to distribute the weight and enhance the disc’s natural lift. This makes it possible to reach distances of approximately 70 to 100 meters (230 to 330 feet) with a smooth, controlled fairway driver throw instead of relying on a faster driver that may be harder to control.

The River excels when you need a straight flight that holds its line. Its lightweight construction helps it maintain the chosen angle on low-ceiling tunnel shots and long sweeping anhyzers. The comfortable rim profile provides a clean, easy release and works well for both backhand throws and finesse forehand shots.

Micro-bubble technology gives the disc a substantial feel in the hand despite its lower weight. Opto Air plastic is also designed to withstand hard impacts with trees and rocky ground.

Opto Air - Premium Plastic
For the Opto Air, Latitude uses the same material as for their durable Opto Line plastic discs. However, it is slightly modified with a different process to achieve an amazing result of lighter discs, while keeping the same weight distribution as close as possible to the Opto and Gold Line discs.

Settings Explanation

This visualization allows you to simulate the disc's flight path based on different throw parameters:

  • Throw Type: RHBH (Right-Hand Backhand) or LHFH (Left-Hand Forehand) and vice versa. Determines the direction of turn and fade.
  • Power: Throw speed from 60% to 120%. At correct speed (green), the disc flies according to the values.
  • Condition: Simulates the disc's condition level. 1/10 = heavily worn (more turn), 10/10 = new (more stable, less turn).
  • Spread: Displays multiple flight paths with different speeds as a colored fan.
  • Paths: Choose between all paths or only the path for the selected power setting.

Note: This simulation is based on the manufacturer's specified flight ratings (Speed, Glide, Turn, Fade). Actual flight characteristics may vary from disc to disc within the same mold and are highly dependent on individual throwing style. This visualization serves as a general guideline.
