Description
Article Description

The MVP Disc Sports Photon in Fission is a fast distance driver from the Elaine King Signature Series in the Classic edition. The Photon is designed to fly stable to overstable and is especially suited to powerful throws with a controlled fade at the end of the flight.

Compared with a Tesla, the Photon offers greater distance. Power throwers can achieve a shallow, flight-extending turnover, while average-power throwers can use a headwind to help produce a similar extended flight. The Photon is naturally resistant to headwinds.

The Photon is typically used for powerful straight distance shots that finish with a fade. This Fission version combines those flight characteristics with the separately specified Fission plastic. The Classic edition is part of the Elaine King Signature Series.

MVP Disc Sports

Flight Path

Settings Explanation

This visualization allows you to simulate the disc's flight path based on different throw parameters:

  • Throw Type: RHBH (Right-Hand Backhand) or LHFH (Left-Hand Forehand) and vice versa. Determines the direction of turn and fade.
  • Power: Throw speed from 60% to 120%. At correct speed (green), the disc flies according to the values.
  • Condition: Simulates the disc's condition level. 1/10 = heavily worn (more turn), 10/10 = new (more stable, less turn).
  • Spread: Displays multiple flight paths with different speeds as a colored fan.
  • Paths: Choose between all paths or only the path for the selected power setting.

Note: This simulation is based on the manufacturer's specified flight ratings (Speed, Glide, Turn, Fade). Actual flight characteristics may vary from disc to disc within the same mold and are highly dependent on individual throwing style. This visualization serves as a general guideline.
